Awarding success and excellence

Freebrough Academy hosted its annual Daring Greatly Awards Evening on Wednesday 22 November 2017. It was a glittering ceremony and students, past and present, joined their friends and families to accept their awards.

With awards for Outstanding Attainment and Outstanding Improvement on offer, along with a number of special awards, winners were chosen by their teachers and Directors of Learning for showing Daring Greatly qualities throughout the last academic year.

Our comperes for the evening, Sophie Y11 and Ashley Y10 did a fantastic job and we are very proud that they could represent our students. Members from the Freebrough Parliament were also on hand to serve canapes whilst welcoming guests.

During the awards ceremony, Charlie Y11 performed her own version of ‘Dancing On My Own’ which was beautiful and a perfect example of determination and excellence.

A special thank you also goes to Mr Mike Bowen, from Jacobs Engineering who presented our awards and was our guest speaker, explaining what Daring Greatly meant to him.

We would like to say thank you to everyone who made the evening possible and who joined us to celebrate the achievements, hard work and tremendous effort of our students. Congratulations to all students who won an award.

Finally, we know that in every classroom, every day there are winners – those students who continue to work hard, support each other, face challenge and dare greatly.
