East Cleveland Children’s Council meet to discuss community issues

Two members of our Academy Council attended an East Cleveland Children’s Council meeting on 21 June 2016. Kurtis and Archie met with students from all across Redcar and Cleveland to discuss issues that affect young people in our community.

We were lucky enough to meet with the Mayor, Councillor Barry Hunt, who was speaking to the group about the success of their dog fouling campaign. We also heard from Alison and her dog Mollie from the Dog’s Trust about how we can help to promote the ‘scoop the poop’ campaign.

Before the end of the meeting, Kurtis and Archie helped to work on an action plan for next year. The group will meet again in October and we look forward to joining them!
