East Cleveland Children’s Council Update

Freebrough Academy were proud to host the half termly meeting of the East Cleveland Children’s Council on Tuesday 10 January 2017, in which representatives from the borough’s Student Councils meet together to discuss issues which affect them, both at school and in the community.

Guest of honour at our meeting was Mayor Barry Hunt, who presented the Children’s Council with the Mayor’s Shield. The shield will be awarded to the school who has demonstrated that they are actively caring for their environment. The Children’s Council will decide on the winning school in June. Kurtis and Archie are determined that Freebrough should win the shield, and are already planning how they can involve all students at the Academy in their aim to “Keep Freebrough Tidy!”
