Freebrough entrepreneur scoops award from Dragon’s Den star

A talented young entrepreneur from Freebrough Academy has won the Peter Jones Enterprise Academy’s Level 3 Student of the Year award.

Hannah Clayton, 18, was presented the accolade by Star of Dragons’ Den Peter Jones at London’s Freemasons’ Hall on 2 July 2015, as part of the academy’s annual graduation ceremony.

She was chosen for the honour in recognition of her commitment to the course and her consistently high standard of work.

Hannah said: “I still can’t believe it now. It was an honour to receive such an amazing award for all the hard work I have put in over the past two years and to meet Peter Jones. It was definitely a moment that I will never forget. I would like to say thank you to everyone who made the PJEA Graduation 2015 possible.”

As well an impressive 100 per cent attendance record, Hannah has received a distinction for every single assignment undertaken during her time with the academy. She is also studying BTEC Level 3 Creative Media Production and A-level Maths.

She continued: “What stands out about the PJEA course is that it is like no other, allowing you the opportunity to set up your own business. I am so glad that I took this route in my career path and I know that it will help me in whatever I do in the future because it provides you with skills and knowledge which are valuable when working in any business environment.”

Hannah received the award in front of hundreds of fellow Peter Jones Enterprise Academy students, who came together at the prestigious venue from colleges across the country.

She was one of a select few to pick up special honours on the day, while all those graduating collected scrolls from Mr Jones on stage.

Kelly Dillon, Hannah’s tutor, said: “Hannah’s attitude is outstanding. She has started a creative media business and has managed this alongside her studies. As well as getting exceptional marks for her coursework, she has dedicated time to helping younger students achieve their potential.”

“She’s a delight to teach and has excelled in all aspects of the course. She is thoroughly deserving of this recognition.”
