Volunteering, physical, skills and the expedition: Students collect Bronze DofE Awards

On Thursday 1 February 2018, Freebrough hosted The Duke of Edinburgh’s Award Ceremony for award winners from across the local area. Attended by the Mayor and nearly one thousand people, including participants and parents, a group of Freebrough Academy students collected their Bronze Award which they completed in July 2017.

The awards were presented by British professional racing cyclist Rebecca Durrell whose home county is Redcar and Cleveland.

One of Freebrough’s DofE Leaders was extremely proud of how far the students had progressed: “The students worked really hard to achieve this award and are a huge asset to the Academy. Hopefully other students will be inspired to follow in their footsteps.”
