French students experience life at Freebrough Academy

For the second year we have welcomed to the Academy two French students who have been in England to experience the English culture, the way we live and enjoy our wonderful country and all it has to offer.

The students Kevin Buffet (aged 17 years) and Nathan Briquet (aged 19 years) are both studying a BTEC Business Administration qualification in their home country.

Nathan and Kevin have had a packed schedule, not only spending time in the Administration department, but also in subject areas; Drama, Food Technology, Modern Foreign Languages, humanities and maths. They took part in sports activities with Mrs Bell, assisting her with a primary cross country tournament at St Peter’s C of E Primary School in Brotton and a volleyball tournament at Saltburn Leisure Centre; they also attended two small school assemblies.

Kevin and Nathan shared in our Red Nose Day charity event (wearing their red noses!) and non-uniform day, with the boys also being challenged by our PE staff to a badminton match!

During their stay, they have visited Saltburn, York, Whitby and Goathland.

Nathan and Kevin were asked to write a short paragraph to express the thoughts of their experience, which you can see below.

We hope the Nathan and Kevin enjoyed their time in England and in particular with us at Freebrough Academy, and we wish them well with their studies and a very Happy Easter to them and their families.

And for those of us who are not fluent in French:
