Welcome from our new Principal

We would like to welcome our new Principal, Mrs Prentice. As a former Deputy Principal of the Academy, we look forward to seeing Mrs Prentice lead Freebrough Academy in growing and developing further.

“I am delighted and honoured to be appointed as the new Principal for Freebrough Academy. From my experience of being the Deputy Principal for two years, and Assistant Principal for four years at Freebrough Academy, I know that effective partnerships between the Academy, parents/carers and the community is essential for the growth and success of our students.”

“I am excited at the prospect of further developing the Academy values and working alongside our students to embed the new FREDICE value of PRIDE by encouraging students to strive for success by daring greatly. I am confident that by working together with our students we can break down the barriers to learning by nurturing grit and resilience, which will maximise individual student outcomes.”

“Freebrough Academy Year 11 students have demonstrated progress in line with national averages. We are all proud of their achievements and are especially proud that nearly a quarter of students gained 3 A*/A grades this year which is a 10% improvement when compared to 2015.”

“Parents/carers make an important contribution to children’s achievements at school, and I want to develop the relationship between the Academy and parents/carers for everyone’s benefit. I hope that you can attend one of our parental consultation evening, which will provide an opportunity to meet you and discuss the building of a successful partnership. You are also welcome to contact me by email or phone.”
