In December 2012 our new, state of the art, enterprise centre threw open its doors. The new building physically stands alone from the main Academy building but is linked through the curriculum, staffing and ethos.
There is a small café area in the enterprise centre which serves drinks and light snacks throughout the day. You are also able to get a more substantial meal in the main Academy restaurant at lunchtimes if required.
The new centre provides you with superb ICT facilities including industry standard equipment to provide a realistic work environment as well as powerful workstations, and portable ICT devices such as iPads and Netbooks.
Facilities to support courses in Digital Engineering and Media provide opportunities for you to develop skills, expertise and qualifications in the new and developing industries in the region as well as providing you with the opportunities to seek future employment nationally and globally. The centre is also equipped with industry standard recording facilities.
Incubation units within the centre offer the space and facilities that students need to start their own business from the age of 16. This is matched by the provision of a wide range of expertise to mentor and coach young entrepreneurs in their first few crucial years in business.
The facilities and expertise of students are soon to be used to work with our wider family of primary and secondary schools. This means that you will have opportunities for real-life work experience that will look fantastic on university applications and your CV.
The centre is fully accessible to those with disabilities.
