One dance too far?

At St. Hilda’s library in Oxford, thirty students of Oxford University made their own version of the massively popular dance craze, The Harlem Shake, in February. As a result of this, the librarian who was on duty has been sacked – for not telling them to be quiet. Five of the students involved, likely the ringleaders, have also been fine £30-60. The students involved were adamant that the librarian, “Couldn’t have stopped it” and that the stunt was, “always going to happen”. Many people have called for the librarian to be reinstated because of this overreaction. The Oxford student newspaper, said that “the college has lost its sense of humour” with a prank that was obviously meant as a harmless joke. The strange dancing incident even was brought up I the house of commons MP George Galloway “insisted the collage needs to see the funny side” and it was just a “little joke”.
