Students have the opportunity in Years 7 and 8 to acquire key skills and competencies delivered using a project/themed approach, through a series of rich tasks, to develop cognitive and interpersonal capability for approximately 20% of their curriculum time each term.

The project based approach is designed to foster the creativity, sense of enquiry and the joy of learning that students bring with them from the primary stage. It develops Enterprise Capability, including financial capability, through opportunities to solve “real life,” complex problems. It also develops Personal, Learning and Thinking Skills, as well as key social skills and emotional literacy that will support students to be effective and successful learners.

The cross-curricular thematic approaches to learning enable students to transfer skills across the curriculum. Learning is structured to enable students to work independently and collaboratively as they develop the skills and competencies.
